Lynchburg, VA is located in central Virginia in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The city is also on the banks of the James River. It has the nickname Hill City due to its unique geography.

Lynchburg is about a 3 hour drive southwest from Northern Virginia, about a 2 hour drive west of Richmond, and a 4 hour drive from Virginia Beach.

Lynchburg is home to some excellent restaurants serving great food. Many of the best places in town for brunch are conveniently located close together on Main Street in downtown Lynchburg. This beautiful location is close to the James River, which flows through the city.

Description

The Bistro at Acorn Hill features excellent food and is one of the top breakfast spots in Lynchburg.

The restaurant is part of the Acorn Hill Lodge, and guests at the hotel can get special dishes such as a French Toast or Pancake Platter, Breakfast Quesadilla, Make Your Own Omelet, and Eggs Benedict.

Other menu items include Pancakes with strawberries, blueberries, or chocolate chips; and breakfast sandwiches such as the Breakfast BLT or the Monte Cristo (battered bread with grilled turkey, ham, and swiss cheese).

As a bonus, you can order milkshakes and sundaes. They also have cocktails and many kinds of mimosas, including a Sunset Mimosa, a Grapefruit Mimosa, and a Peach Bellini.

As befitting the name, they also have a dog-friendly patio where you can sit and eat.

Some top dishes include Potato Cakes, Jefferson Street Cinnamon Rolls, Stuffed French Toast, Smothered Biscuit with House-Made Sausage Gravy, Breakfast Burrito, and many kinds of Eggs Benedict.

Grey’s gets high marks from customers for their delicious food in Lynchburg. The restaurant focuses on dinner on Wednesday through Friday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, however they serve brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. They feature a great selection of tempting entrées.

Their brunch menu includes more typical fare like Avocado Toast and Fried Chicken Biscuit, as well as more unique items such as Trout Cake and Egg, Sweet Potato and Chorizo Hash, and Challah French Toast.

Iron & Ale is located a little further afield away from downtown Lynchburg, but it is another top spot for brunch in the city.

Their robust brunch menu includes the Monte Cristo (French Toast, turkey, ham, swiss, and blueberry jam), Lemon French Toast, Shrimp & Grits, and a California Benny.

For a lighter brunch, you can get Waffles, French Toast, or the Breakfast Plate with two eggs, breakfast potatoes, and texas toast.

You can also order Mimosa Buckets on Saturdays till 4:00 pm. The buckets include an assortment of flavors like mango, peach, strawberry, and watermellon, as well as the classic mimosa.

As the name implies, the restaurant has much more than just brunch to offer. They also specialize in excellent craft beers. They also serve a wide selection of cocktails, including signature manhattans and martinis.
