Augustine Golf Club is located a little north of Fredericksburg in Stafford, VA. This makes it more convenient to reach from the Washington Beltway. The club features a 6,817 yard Par 71 course. There is also a driving range, a practice green, and a clubhouse featuring a fully-stocked golf shop. The golf club also offers golf lessons.

The setting at the golf course is lovely, with gentle rolling hills and bright green fairways surrounded by a natural pine, and hardwood forest.

There are public tee times as well as members-only tee times that can be reserved in advance.

Augustine Golf Club also has a full-service restaurant called The Grille. The menu includes Jumbo Buffalo Wings, Maryland Style Crab Dip, French Dip Sandwich, Build Your Own Burgers, Crab Cake Sandwich, and much more.

Meadows Farms Golf Course

Meadows Farms Golf Course is located 20 miles west of Fredericksburg in Locust Grove, VA. They pride themselves on being one of the best courses in Virginia, and they feature a “no frills” course at an affordable price.

The design elements for the course were inspired by courses in California and Florida. Some of the course features include elevated tees, bounce bunkers, and an island green. One of the highlights is a stunning waterfall Par 3. There are also seven water crossings.

Another highlight of the course is the Par 6, which is 841 yards when played from the championship tee. It is recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as “The Longest Golf Hole in the United States.” 

The golf course features The Red Bull Grill for breakfast and lunch. They also have a fully-stocked pro shop with clubs, shoes, balls, towels, hats, and more.

Fredericksburg Country Club

Gauntlet Golf Club is also located in Fredericksburg, VA. The 18-hole, Par 72 course is noted for its difficulty due to the fact that many of the holes have narrow and tree-lined fairways.

Another special feature of the golf club is a golf simulator that you can reserve to practice your game. The simulator is perfect for the colder weather months. The club also has a winter indoor golf league to help you keep your skills sharp even during the winter.

There is also a New Direction Golf Academy, which has private lessons for adults and children, and a PGA Junior League for children 17 and under.

For food and drink, you can stop by The 19th Hole, which features dinner, a full-service bar, and lovely views of the golf course.

Pendleton Golf Club

The golf club boasts that it is like “playing golf in Scotland, without the airfare.” The course stretches over 7,000 yards amidst Ruther Glen woods.

Pendelton Golf Club also offers great discount prices for a Virginia public golf course. This can make it an attractive option for budget-conscious golfers. They offer numerous flexible packages depending on what works best for you.

The club also offers golf lessons taught by a PGA Professional instructor.

The club even features a disc golf course as a fun addition to the main golf course. A tee time is required. You can call for reservations.

Fawn Lake Country Club

Fawn Lake Country Club is located just 18 miles west of Fredericksburg. The club features a private 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course.

Fawn Lake also boasts clay tennis courts. They also offer a robust tennis program with lessons; clinics; Men’s Women’s, and Junior Teams; and Junior and Youth Tennis Camps.

There are two dining options at the country club. The Lakeside Grille features casual dining with indoor and outdoor seating and a view of the 18th green. The Harbor Club is a more upscale establishment featuring lovely lakeside views. Please note that the Harbor Club is only open from Thursday to Saturday.

The extensive menu at The Lakeside Grille includes Thai bites, Sesame Tuna, Fried Chicken Salad, and pizza. The Harbor Club menu includes Bison Sliders, Blue Crab Arancini, Black Truffle and Wagyu Ravioli, and Petite Filet Mignon.
