Ivy Hill Golf Club is located about 15 miles west of Lynchburg. The course is 186 acres in size with numerous changes in elevation.
Though it features a challenging 18-hole course, it remains an excellent course for players of all skill sets. The course is also one of the great public golf courses in the area.
The golf club even features six pickleball courts and an outdoor swimming pool!
Ivy Hill has a top-notch club house that includes a pro shop, cafe, bar, event space, and restaurant.

Poplar Grove Golf Club is located about 13 miles north of Lynchburg in Amherst, VA. It is one of the best golf courses in the state, having earned the distinction of being named the number 14 golf club in Virginia by Golf Digest. The course is also the final design of golf legend Sam Snead.
The golf course is set in the lovely Blue Ridge Mountains and features scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
The Manor House Cafe is also on-site and serves breakfast and lunch. The cafe is located in a 1773 manor house and is brimming with historic charm.
The menu includes breakfast items such as Avocado Toast, Acai Bowl, and Breakfast Panini. Lunch includes items like the Avocado BLT, Prosciutto and Mozzarella Panini, and Roast Beef and Pimento Panini.

The golf course has the distinction of being located on the historic site of Thomas Jefferson’s villa retreat. The club features a 9 hole course and practice facility.

Boonsboro Country Club is located in the center of Lynchburg. The club dates back to 1923, and offers members with a challenging 18 hole course, driving range, and short game practice facility.
The course itself dates back to 1929, and it is famous for its historic and original design elements. The surrounding hills and woodlands are integrated into the course, rather than altered for the sake of the course.
The country club has hosted many premier men’s and women’s amateur golf events.
In addition to the golf amenities, the club has eight clay tennis courts and four reflex 500 cushioned tennis courts. They also have an outdoor swimming pool that is open in the summer.
