Winchester, Virginia is an excellent destination for golf in Virginia. The town is located about 60 miles from Fairfax County, and it is set in the lovely Shenandoah Mountains region of western Virginia. This makes it a picturesque setting for enjoying a round at one of the many 18-hole courses in the town.

Winchester Country Club

The Winchester Country Club is conveniently located within the town of Winchester. The club features an 18-hole golf course, as well as numerous other top-notch recreation amenities, including tennis, pickleball, swimming, and a fitness center.

There is a restaurant on-site that serves lunch all day as well as dinner from 5pm to 9pm. Some of the available dishes from their extensive menu include: French dip panini, dynamite shrimp, seared ahi tuna on crispy wontons, lemon artichoke chicken, and pesto Parmesan glazed salmon.

The club also hosts banquets and events.


Rock Harbor Golf Course

Rock Harbor Golf Course features a lovely setting for playing a round of golf. They offer an added bonus of 36 uniquely designed golf holes, with six tee placements at each hole for different difficulty levels.

Rock Harbor boasts a Rock Course, Boulder Course, Practice Facilities, and a Pro Shop to meet all of your golfing needs.

The Grill at Rock Harbor also serves breakfast and lunch from 7 am to 6:30 pm daily. Dinner is served every Saturday from 5 pm to 8 pm.

Shenandoah Valley Golf Club

Description

Shenandoah Valley Golf Club is one of the top public golf courses in the area. It features three nine-hole golf courses. It also boasts the top-ranked Virginia golf school.

The golf club’s picturesque location in Front Royal is also a great destination for special events such as weddings.

Club 27 Fire Grill is open daily until 7 pm and offers breakfast and lunch. The menus include micro-brews, wines, pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, spicy chicken sandwiches, and a quarter-pound hot dog.


Locust Hill Golf Course

Description

Locust Hill Golf Course is located a little further afield in Charles Town, West Virginia. One of the great benefits of the club is that it has some of the most extensive hours out of all of the courses in the Winchester area.

The 18-hole golf course at Locust Hill features four sets of tees on every hole to match different skill levels. The course is set on 35 acres.


Jim Barnett Park Disc Golf Course

Monday to Friday: 5:30 am – 9:30 pm

Saturday: 5:30 am – 6 pm

Sunday: 12:00 pm – 6 pm

Description

Disc golf is another great activity that you can find in Winchester. Jim Barnett Park features a Winchester disc golf course set on 170 acres of parkland.

The course is great for different skill levels. There are two concrete tee boxes at each hole: one is a beginner tee box, and the other is an advanced/professional tee box. There are also full-color hole maps and colored squares in the concrete to help you along on the course.

The course is available for free and the Rec Center even provides discs, if needed.
