Crozet is a small town in central Virginia. It’s just 19 miles west of Charlottesville near I-64. It’s also close to many of the 40+ wineries in the Charlottesville area, which makes it a great jumping-off point for your next winery journey!
The region is one of the most beautiful in Virginia, with views of rolling green hills and mountains all around. It’s the perfect, peaceful setting for enjoying a refreshing glass of wine!

Below are my top recommendations for the best wineries in and around Crozet, VA. All of these wineries are also within a short drive of Charlottesville.
1. Veritas Vineyard and Winery
Veritas Vineyard and Winery is one of my personal favorite wineries in Virginia! It’s also very popular, so note that it may get busy with long lines, particularly on weekends when the weather’s nice.

The expansive property has many seating areas for wine tastings. There is also a separate farmhouse where you can stay the night or have a delicious four-course meal. I have had several meals there and it is a great experience.
The dinners feature creative dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients. And each course comes with a special wine pairing. I completely recommend it! Please note that space is limited and reservations are required.
2. King Family Vineyards
King Family Vineyards is one of the top wineries in Virginia and it’s located right in Crozet, VA.
You can select from a number of different wine tastings at the vineyard. There are several self-guided wine tastings (with your choice of a white wine flight, red wine flight, and premium wine flight.)
You can also book a guided wine tasting in the Tasting Room, as well as a Reserved Wine tasting, which features a more intimate experience in the Library Room.
Beyond award-winning wines, King Family Vineyards is also well known for the polo matches that occur on the large property. There are regularly scheduled polo matches each Sunday from Memorial Day to October. The vineyard also has a polo school, clinics, and more.

3. Pollak Vineyards
Pollak Vineyards is located in nearby Greenwood, VA, just 7 miles from Crozet and 20 miles west of Charlottesville.
The small, family-owned winery specializes in French-inspired wines. They feature a large selection of wines, including Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Gris, Rose, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Meritage.
The winery sells a small selection of food items to go with your wine, including baguettes, crackers, Hummus & Pretzels, Charcuterie Boards, pastries, and a wide selection of cheeses.
Dogs are welcome outside.

4. Stinson Vineyards
If you’re looking for a smaller, more intimate winery experience, then Stinson Vineyards is a great choice. It’s located right in Crozet, VA, and just 15 miles from Charlottesville.
The small, family-owned vineyard specializes in French techniques as part of the wine-making process.
Some of their wines include an oak-barrel Chardonnay, a Rose, and a Sauvignon Blanc. They also feature several dessert wines, including a honey-flavored Petit Manseng and a Tannat port-style wine.
Dogs are allowed outdoors at the winery.
Stinson Vineyards also features a bed and breakfast called The Inn where you can stay overnight and soak in the beautiful views of the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains. The Inn also has a seasonal outdoor pool with views of the mountains and vineyard.
5. Hazy Mountain Vineyards and Brewery
Hazy Mountain features some of the most stunning views of any winery! It sits high on top of a hill, which means it has beautiful sweeping views of the surrounding hills and streams.

It also features a gorgeous large estate that will make you feel as though you’ve been transported to Tuscany. The interior of the building has high, wood-beamed ceilings.
Hazy Mountain takes full advantage of these beautiful surroundings with many different seating areas, both inside and outside, including outside seating that faces out onto the rolling hills below.
It’s a perfect setting to enjoy a great glass of wine.
Hazy Mountain includes both a winery and a brewery. Some of their wines include multiple Chardonnays, Petit Manseng, Riesling, Rose, and several Red Blends. Their beers include a Helles Lager, Hefeweizen, Hazy IPA, Mountain Pale Ale, and Pilsner.
They also have an extensive food menu that includes a Charcuterie & Cheese Board, Cheese & Fruit Board, Salads, Sandwiches, Pizzas, Flatbreads, and more. You can find a full menu online.
6. Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards
Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards is one of the most popular vineyards in the region. It’s located 15 miles southwest of Charlottesville.

It features beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and expansive views of the surrounding rolling hills. It’s also a popular wedding venue.
The large property features multiple seating areas, including a covered veranda, indoor tasting room seating, and outdoor seating.
There are several wine flights to choose from, including a Red Wine Flight (Red Pump, Cannon Red, Cabernet Franc, and Wild Common); a White Wine Flight (Zero White, Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, and Rosé), and a Reserve Wine Flight (Chardonnay Reserve, Reserve Rosé, Bundoran Blue, and Petit Verdot).
If you’re interested in pairing your wine with food, you have a full menu of options to choose from, including Burrata & Heirloom Tomato Salad, Roasted Chicken Orzo, Braised Pork Belly & Shishito Pepper, Pippin Berry & Lemon Olive Oil Cake, and more.
There are also multiple special experiences that the vineyard offers to enhance your visit, including an Estate Tour and Wine Tasting, a Cooking School, and a Wine School. You can also tour the new Greenhouse, which hosts special events throughout the year.
The winery is popular, so it’s recommended that you make reservations ahead of time for the veranda or indoor tasting room seating.
You can also extend your visit and book an overnight stay at The Crossroads Inn at Pippin Hill. The historic property was originally known as the Crossroads Tavern and dates all the way back to 1817. It is also a National Historic Register and has been designated a Virginia Historic Landmark.
You can stay at the romantic Pippin Cottage, which was previously the kitchen of the tavern that was originally on the property. It includes a queen bed, bathroom, kitchenette, living area, and private deck. There are also several rooms and suites to choose from.

7. Eastwood Farm and Winery
Eastwood Farm and Winery is just 5 miles from downtown Charlottesville, which makes it one of the closest and most convenient wineries to visit.

The winery regularly hosts special events, including live music, Oktoberfest (which takes place all fall!), mountaintop yoga classes, and much more.
Eastwood features numerous tasting flights to meet your needs, including a Virginia Classics Tasting, a White Reserve Tasting, a Red Reserve Tasting, a Rose and Bubbly Tasting, a Sweet Summer Tasting, and a Beer Flight. They also have Frose (frozen rose), which is always a favorite of mine in the warm weather!
Beyond award-winning wines, Eastwood is also a great food destination. They have an extensive menu that includes Charcuterie and Cheese Boards, Flatbreads, Soups, Salads, Spinach Quiche, Chocolate Fondue, and more.
You can also book a stay at the The Winery Cottage at Eastwood Farm and Winery. The cottage has all of the amenities you could need, with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining area, and a living room.
8. Keswick Vineyards
Keswick Vineyards is a bit further away, but it’s well worth a visit. It’s located in Keswick, VA, which is 28 miles from Crozet, but only 13 miles from Charlottesville.
Keswick features award-winning wines and a lovely setting. You can build a custom wine flight, with your choice of any four wines.
Keswick has light food options for purchase, including cheeses, crackers, sandwiches, and chips. They also have a food truck on-site Wednesdays through Sundays.
The vineyard is a great family destination. They even have a mini-golf course and a dog park! They also have live music on Saturdays.
Keswick is also a popular and gorgeous wedding venue, with beautiful views of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains, and the stunning centerpiece manor home.
9. White Hall Vineyards
White Hall Vineyards is located just 20 minutes northwest of Charlottesville. The property boasts gorgeous sweeping views of the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains and rolling green hills.
Some of their wines include Virginia staples like Chardonnay, Viognier, Petit Verdot, and Gewurztraminer (one of my personal favorites!)
Dogs are allowed outside.

10. Septenary Winery
Septenary Winery is also known as the Winery at Seven Oaks Farm. It has a rich history dating all the way back to the 1700s. The estate is a Virginia Historic Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The name “Seven Oaks” refers to seven oak trees that once stood on the property. Each tree was named for a President. Sadly, all but one of the trees was destroyed in 1954 by Hurricane Hazel. The remaining tree was named Thomas Jefferson in honor of the founding father’s close connection to nearby Charlottesville.
The winery has ample outdoor seating, but only limited indoor seating, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please note that the winery does not allow anyone under 21. Dogs are allowed.
