Woodstock is a small town located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, close to the border with West Virginia. The town is located along the lovely “Seven Bends” area of the Shenandoah River. Woodstock also serves as the county seat of Shenandoah County.
Woodstock is about 27 miles southwest of Front Royal, 80 miles west of Fairfax County, and about 150 miles from Richmond. It is conveniently located about a 90-minute drive from northern Virginia, which makes it a great and convenient weekend destination.

Muse Vineyards is one of the top wineries in Woodstock. The estate vineyard has a prime location near Seven Bends State Park, near the Shenandoah River. It offers panoramic views of Shenandoah’s beautiful mountains nearby. There is also a nature trail to explore.
Muse Vineyards has a number of award-winning wines, including wines that have won the San Francisco International Wine Competition and the Virginia Governor’s Cup. Some of their wines include Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Nebbiolo (from the Piedmont region of northern Italy). They even sell cans of Cabernet Frank rosé.
You can also stay overnight at the Muse Vineyards Farmhouse, which is a Mennonite farmhouse dating back to 1792!
Muse Vineyards also features live music performances on many Saturdays.

Shenandoah Vineyards has the distinction of being the oldest vineyard in the Shenandoah Valley, and the second oldest active vineyard in Virginia.

Wolf Gap also hosts weddings and other special events. You can even reserve a picnic table or blanket with special picnic baskets available.

The winery hosts a number of live entertainment and other special events, including an October Wein Fest featuring live music and bavarian specialties.

Cave Ridge Vineyard is a family vineyard located in the foothills of the Shenandoah Mountains.
They have a Reserve Tasting Experience on Saturdays that can be reserved in advance.
Cave Ridge Vineyard also hosts live music performances on Saturdays and other special events such as the annual fall Sip & Stomp event.
Sip & Stomp includes a chance to stomp grapes and even get a commemorative t-shirt of the event with your footprints on the shirt!

The Winery at Kindred Pointe is located a little south of Woodstock. They have two excellent seating areas where you can enjoy delicious wine: a pavilion, with panoramic views of the lovely surrounding Shenandoah Valley; and the Tasting Room at The Stables, which features wine tastings with food pairings.
As an added bonus, the winery also features hard cider, going by the clever name: Life is Hard Cider.
The winery also has live music events.
